About me
My journey to becoming a therapist began when I read Emily Nagoski’s book “Come As You Are.” A spark ignited and I realized I had a passion for sex therapy. Not ready to make a big career change yet, as my career was in Human Resources at large corporations, I decided to start volunteering for Illinois Center Against Sexual Assault as an advocate for sexual assault survivors. It dawned on me that I was far more passionate about the idea of becoming a therapist than staying in Human Resources, so I returned to graduate school and followed my passion. Given my own journey, I understand both the complexities of making substantial life changes and how rewarding the changes can be.
In my free time, I love to spend time outdoors. Running and hiking are some of my favorite activities. In the winter, I switch gears and enjoy cross country skiing. I love to cook and if I had my own cooking show, I would call it “The Therapist’s Kitchen.”
