Sex therapy is a form of talk therapy. It can include problem solving and understanding and resolving underlying concerns that contribute to problems.
People engage in sex therapy for a variety of reasons. They range from wanting to focus on specific issues or problems to simply wanting a better sex life.
While sex therapy can be vulnerable, the upside is potentially a better, more pleasurable sex life, an improved sense of self, and a better connection to your partner.

The frequency of therapy will depend on your unique needs. I typically recommend weekly sessions for the first month of therapy to start gaining momentum and moving in the right direction.
-
Yes, I offer both Telehealth and in-person therapy services in Northbrook.
-
I do not accept insurance. I can provide you with a monthly superbill that you can use to submit an out-of-network claim to your insurance provider. Insurance carriers typically provide some reimbursement when you submit a claim yourself. To know what your insurance covers for an out of network provider, you will need to contact your insurance carrier.
You are also able to charge therapy to your FSA/HSA card.
-
Credit or Debit cards are accepted, or FSA/HSA cards. Payment is collected following each session.
-
If you need to cancel or change a session, please email me or send me a message through the client portal. If you change or cancel a session within 24 hours of the start of the session, you will be charged the full session fee. If you are more than 15 minutes late to a session, it’s considered a missed session and you will also be charged the full session fee.
Hopefully this never happens!

The answer here is simple: I see insurance as inconsistent with client care. Without accepting insurance, I am able to work with a variety of clients based on my strengths as a therapist and your needs as a client, instead of who is in-network. You can schedule with me as often as you need, based on your life, rather than what your insurance dictates. Furthermore, your information always stays private.
-
Yes, I have a sliding scale. However, all sliding scale openings are currently filled.
-
Yes! In compliance with the No Surprises Act, I provide good faith estimates. Good faith estimates are made available when you schedule your first session.
-
The length of treatment depends on your goals. For some folks, brief therapy makes a lot of sense. For others, they are looking for long term support. There’s no one right way! Keep in mind, length of treatment is ultimately entirely up to you.
